I know it's a little late but here are some pics from 2010.
We went to Bear Lake for the day with my dad and to visit Heather and her kids while they were camping. I had never been to Rendezvous Beach, it was pretty and we all had a lot of fun.
There was trip to Colorado for my grandma's 80th birthday! It was a lot of fun. We were there with my mom and my brothers family. We haven't all been there together since Riko & I were teenagers. It was really nice. There are a lot more pics that I may add at some point but it's to much work right now.
They live in a farming town, one town over has cow ranches, every once in a while the wind will blow in the smell of cow dung. I don't think it's that bad-it's country air, not any worse then the smell of our polluted air but this is what Tonio and Izzy thought of it. (Insert the sound of Izzy gagging for full effect.)
We went back to Bear lake for some more fun in the sun with Jamie's family for our annual trip. It was shorter this year but no less fun.
This was a big year for Tonio or Anthony as he wants to be called at school (I just can't get used to that, he will always be my t-tone-tonio baby boy, even when he is a foot taller then me which will be next year). He turned 10. I know it's not that big of a deal but I have a 10 year old! I can't believe it. He is getting so big. People were asking what to get him for his b-day and I realized he hadn't played with his toy in months. This was the first year he didn't get a 'toy' ie-plastic play object for his b-day or for Christmas. It makes me sad to see him growing up into a young man. He is changing everyday, not like Izzy where she is learning new things but like a young man. He has pimples for heavens sake! He makes me so proud, the other day I was at the office paying lunch money and when I told the office lady his name (people don't realize he's my son because he is blond and has green eyes and white colored skin) she got a big smile and said, "oh I know him, he is so polite." She told me they were walking in the hall the other day and he was so polite and friendly to her talking to her about football and lunch. I don't think a parent can get a better compliment about their child then that. You could have the most handsome or smart child in the world but if that kids a little shit and no one wants to be around them, then what does it matter, but if people like your child because they are polite and kind well then, you've done your job as a parent.
Also, he started a new school. Wasatch Peak Academy-a charter school in NSL. He loves it, he has had no problem making friends, and he is doing really well in his classes. His teachers say he is great student, the only thing is sometimes he gets chatty and has to be told to listen but he always corrects his behavior.
If you can't tell I am a proud mom! I may not be able to have all the babies I want but I have been blessed with two really great kids!
We went back to Colorado for the Florez Family Reunion. We had some really good food if you can't tell by my spread here.
We hung out with some really good company. This is my dad and his siblings there is only one missing. It wouldn't be a Florez family gathering with a little cards, this goes back generations. We play for quarters and dimes, it's not high stakes but it's fun, we sit around playing for hours talking, you hear stories about my dad, aunts and uncles when they were young.
My dad, sister and I roasted, peeled, bagged and froze green chilies.
The smell of roasting the green chili is so GOOD, and it stays in your house for days! I loved it.
These two are light weights with their gloves on, my dad was saying, 'I don't want my delicate hands to burn all night', and my sister was saying, 'hey, I'm half white.' There is no pic but I didn't mess around with the gloves.
We went to Huntsville for fall conference.
We had many o' silly nights at home!
There was Nana's Halloween party...
And so much more but these pics were all I had the patients to wait to load and I have other things I need to get done!
Anyway, hope everyone was as blessed as we were last year to have some wonderful memories with our great family and friends (while we don't have really any friends so our wonderful families)!
I hope 2011 will be just as good if not better!
